On August 18. 2006, the General Law for Equal Treatment came into effect in Germany. The law is intended to prevent any kind of unequal treatment due to gender, age, ethnic ancestry and religion. For companies this means they are obliged to inform and train their employees facing changes. Many of the established processes and regulations have to be reviewed and changed in order to avert claims for indemnification and other disadvantages for the company.
