Sixty-plus attendees at our recent User Group at the Roof Gardens in Kensington, London, made new contacts and shared their insights on getting more out of Mohive. The quality of the conversations and level of knowledge-sharing at the event encouraged us to make two decisions: firstly, to set up an online forum where all Mohive users can interact and share best practice and, secondly, that the online forum will add to our face-to-face events, not replace them. Getting together in person is just too enjoyable.
"We wanted this to be somewhere people can just talk with, and learn from, each other. I hope we managed that."
"We didn’t want the User Group to be some hideous networking event with people trying to sell to each other," said Mohive's Paul Morton. "We wanted it to be somewhere people can just talk with, and learn from, each other. I hope we managed that."
Many delegates came from the UK but others had travelled from the Netherlands and Norway to be there. Beyond the opportunity for face-time with industry colleagues and flamingos (Roof Garden residents), they enjoyed some excellent presentations, with highlights such as:
- David Saunders of Jaguar Landrover, claiming to know nothing about e-learning then inspiring us with his vision of just how to use it to deliver commercial results for a business.
- Andy Tedd showcasing some of the BBC's highly creative video-based courses, which are proving to be a hotbed for developing the 'on-camera' skills of its L&D professionals.
- Kent Inge Skevik sharing IF Insurance's way of working with 200+ SMEs, and the results of an empirical study of sales improvement delivered by e-learning - staff who took Mohive e-learning courses made significantly more sales than a control group receiving traditional training.
Advanced Mohive Workshops' demonstrated just how far Mohive can be pushed."
Advanced Mohive Workshop' sessions were popular too, with David Lloyd of Lorien Connect digging deep into Mohive Flash Widgets, and Pat Kyle of LearnAbility demonstrating just how far the Flexi template can be pushed.
Steve Fiehl and Vincent Desnot also joined us from CrossKnowledge to talk about the group's wider offering and their commitment to service.
