French customers choose Mohive Coach

While France has been slower than other European countries to embrace e-learning - or 'distance learning' as it is known locally - this situation finally seems to be changing. According to Cédric Merland, Consultant at CrossKnowledge, French customers are developing a growing appetite for e-learning, and for creating 'rapid' content themselves using Mohive eLPS.

"French businesses used to believe that distance training was only useful before or after face-to-face courses, but they're starting to accept that it has other applications," said Cédric. "For example, companies are realising that they can use it to unlock the knowledge within their organisation - knowledge they risk losing when people move on or retire."

“CrossKnowledge is already seeing opportunities to introduce partner organisations to French customers who need help developing courses using Mohive.”

Cedric has given around 30 demonstrations of Mohive in recent months, and seen a lot of interest and some major wins from big businesses in the financial services, oil & gas, automotive and service sectors. It's still early days, but CrossKnowledge is already seeing opportunities to introduce partner organisations to French customers who need help developing courses using Mohive.

There's also growing interest in producing rapid e-learning courses in-house too - although most companies have, as yet, little notion how to create and deploy rapid content. As a result, Cédric Merland reports very positive reactions to the Mohive Coach process, which has been run with several new customers.

Mohive Coach helps new users start creating e-learning modules by providing support and coaching during their first project. It follows the same four-step project structure familiar to any Mohive user, focusing on the 'mission' of the course first, before introducing the Mohive platform and supporting 'coachees' through the process of writing content, Quality Assurance and publishing.

"Most French companies have little notion how to create and deploy rapid content, and the Mohive Coach process gets very positive reactions from new customers."

"So far, we've helped Automatic Data Processing (ADP) create popular and engaging content about serious financial rules; The Phone House roll out a rapid sales training course - including shooting video - in about 10 days; and hairdressing chain Dessange created a successful induction course, even though the technology was entirely new to them."

"We've actually been coaching project managers instead of SMEs, as project managers are the pedagogical experts in this market," said Cédric. "We give them an end-to-end experience of a successful project and that helps them understand how they can use Mohive to deliver their company's learning requirements."
