1.How many people in your organisation are typically involved in e-learning course creation?
We have five Design and four Logistics team-mates who use Mohive. The Design team creates the interactive courses and the Logistics team creates evaluations and assessments as needed.

2. What processes do you use to enable them to work together effectively?
We are a virtual team and communicate on a daily basis using one or a combination of Live Meeting, email, conference calls and instant messaging to work through our projects. These communication methods allow us to discuss standards, treatments, and any questions we may have while building courses in Mohive.

"The authoring aspect of Mohive is user-friendly and we like the reusability of the different exercises, segments, chapters, and modules."

The standards we have developed include best practices for objectives, assessments, and text standards. We have also set up standard exercise templates and defined how/when to use links to uPerform and/or Captivate based on the screen size and our course template.

3. How long have you been creating courses using Mohive?
We have been using Mohive for almost three years. The number of courses has increased greatly in the past year as our team have developed their skill sets.

4. What software did you use previously to Mohive?
We used Captivate to create swfs which were added as attachments to courses in our LMS. With Mohive, we are able to incorporate some of the Captivate files in the video exercise template. If the screens are too large for the course template, we add links to the Captivate or uPerform files for simulation sequences and practice simulations.

5. What types of courses do you create?
We create a variety of courses including systems, sales, new processes, assessments for Information and Learning Technology (ILT) classes, and new manager training.

6. And how long are the courses usually?
The courses vary from 30 minutes to 1 hour.

"The Quality Assurance aspect [of Mohive] is very helpful. This makes the review process go more smoothly and helps our team to make changes quickly."

7. How much time does an average course take to create from when you start work to uploading into the LMS?
Depending on the course, it takes 4 to 12 weeks. Some courses require more input from our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) or we might have to wait for the final release of a software update.

8. How long does each stage in the development process take to complete (i.e. planning, authoring, Q&A and publishing)?
It depends on the content. We can turn around some courses very quickly and these require less Q&A. Others may go through more review cycles, which makes the authoring and Q&A timelines longer. Publishing is the quickest of the four stages. This can be completed in a few hours.

9. What aspect of the Mohive system do you find most helpful?
The authoring aspect of Mohive is user-friendly and we like the reusability of the different exercises, segments, chapters, and modules. The Quality Assurance aspect is very helpful. This makes the review process go more smoothly and helps our team to make changes quickly.

10. Which Mohive templates do you find particularly effective for the type of course you create, and what features make them your preferred choice?
Our favourite template is the iExplore-Flexi. We have found this template most effective because it can be used to fade several items in or out, as well as add interactivity. It gives you control over the placement of images and text, which is very helpful for the sales screens we use in most of the courses we create.

"We have created a template course to give us a framework for all our courses. It has the standard pages and text used in every course."

11. What tip have you discovered that you would like to share with other Mohive users?
We have created a template course to give us a framework for all our courses. It has the standard pages and text used in every course. We have also added some of the more complicated interactive exercise templates so that we can modify them quickly after copying and pasting them into a new course. This helps to cut down the overall production time of our standard and assessment exercise templates.
