Mohive user group summit 2008

Update from Steinar Bell

Mohive’s second annual user group summit, held in Oslo, Norway on June 19th and 20th, was a great success. More than 60 participants were present at Thursday’s main event, which included a series of exciting presentations, both from Mohive customers and e-learning industry leaders.

Global challenges: Andrew McNeill, Fugero

After Mohive CEO Lars Unneberg had set the stage, Andrew McNeill, chief surveyor at Fugro Offshore Survey Division, presented an interesting overview of Fugro’s complex challenge to provide training to a global audience and how his team is tackling this challenge.

Rapid approach, Tore Eggen, Get

Next, Tore Eggen, training manager at Get, Norway’s leading digital-TV and broadband provider, illustrated how they are using the Mohive e-Learning Publishing System to quickly create and spread proprietary knowledge throughout their organisation.

Strategies for Knowledge sharing, Gordon Bull

As an external speaker, Mohive was proud to welcome Gordon Bull, a leading commentator on e-learning who has formerly held senior positions with organisations like Vodafone and American Express. Using his experiences from these world-class organisations, Gordon shared his insights and thoughts around developing a strategy for knowledge sharing.

iPhone and Mohive, Lars Unneberg

Wrapping up Thursday’s program, Mohive CEO Lars Unneberg established the business as the first e-learning software provider in Europe to offer content on the recently launched Apple iPhone by demonstrating the exciting new “Mohive for iPhone” capability.

The afternoon concluded with all the participants moving from the conference centre to the stunning new Opera House in Oslo, with its exiting architectural expression and magnificent location on the Oslo fjord, for a summer party with food and drinks. A relaxed and informal atmosphere provided an ideal setting for networking and knowledge sharing.

Workshops on day 2

For the first time, the summit continued into a second day where two engaging workshops were offered: “From strategy to implementation” hosted by Gordon Bull and “Interactivity Lab: sharing tips and tricks on creating interactivity in your e-learning content” hosted by Lars Helle, Mohive’s creative director.

Mohive would like to thank all participants and especially our presenters for making this year’s event such a success – and we look forward to next year’s user group summit.
